Swarovski Color Change Cantaloupe

Cantaloupe Beads Change Color - I would recommend viewing these in a variety of different light sources before planning a design as the color change can be quite dramatic. These are a peach-like color in my hand under normal indoor lights Fluorescent lights turn them melon green. According to the literature they also turn gray but I cannot get them to do it.

What other people (my customers) have said about the Cantaloupe Colors

One customer had a little trouble understanding the color change concept

[ She Said ]
Dear Folks in the Packing and Shipping Department: You Goofed! Somehow, I received 4 dozen Erinite 8mm faceted bicones in the latest shipment, instead of 4 dozen Cantaloupe 8mm faceted bicones!! I can tell, 'cause Erinite is green and Cantaloupe is a soft pinkish/peach and my bicones are surely green! Now, this would not be a big deal, ordinarily, but I just ordered a bunch of Erinite last night, so I am a little annoyed and would love to receive the Swarovski crystals I originally asked for and not an avalanche of more green Erinite. I am sure you can sort this mess out and I surely will appreciate it!

[ We Said ]  We didn't make a mistake. Under fluorescent light the cantaloupe is green and when you get it under a normal light it is pinkish and in sunlight it is gray. Try taking the cantaloupe under a different light source. And you will see it will change color. I know this because I thought it was green in our office and then when I showed it to Jerry later it was pink. He thought I was crazy until we read up on the cantaloupe. See our home page. The coating changes color under different light sources. If you don't like it, you can send it back. Thanks.

[ She Said ] I finally figured it out! The Cantaloupe crystals are pinkish/peach in the morning, under natural light (sunlight) and green under any fluorescent lighting and gray at dusk--also in natural, waning sunlight. I took them to the floor length glass sliding glass doors around 7 p.m. and voila-gray! It must be a color response to different wavelengths of light. Very cool--but difficult to figure out how to use! LOL I remembered Ellen Gilchrist's book: "Light Can Be Both Wave and Particle."

I remember opening the package and thinking that the green was so beautiful and when Jerry came in, I said you have to come see this green. I brought it out and it was pink. For a second I thought I was seeing things! They are pretty cool but I think it will be tough to figure out what to do with them. If you aren't happy with them, you can send them back. Thanks for your orders. Good luck with the cantaloupe.

Hello, I just wanted to tell you I have seen all three colors that the cantaloupe is suppose to display and I've also seen a fourth color almost a gray blue. I was in the grocery store and in the front of the store, my bracelet was green, in the back of the store, it was grey blue.

I ordered the cantaloupe Swarovski cubes from you a couple of weeks ago. Just wanted to let you know that they are FABULOUS! I have seen a pink, similar to the light rose as well as the gray, green and melon colors. This pink usually appears as you move from one type of light to another. Especially in the outdoor "orange" light of street lamps. My daughter was wowed by them. Now the question is to find something in my wardrobe that these colors would not clash with, should I move from one light source to another. Again, thank you for carrying a most unusual product that is sure to be a conversation piece for quite a while!

While I am waiting for my two shipments, I thought I would drop you a line concerning the Swarovski Cantaloupe beads. They do turn gray, although I think silver would be a better description. The silver color is transparent and it shoots all the colors of the rainbow. I wish Swarovski would make a bead in this color, not that the green isn't nice on the Cantaloupe, but the silver with fire blazing from them are incredible. I think the easiest way to see this color is to put the beads by a window, not in direct sunlight. I found it making a necklace in front of a window in my den when I turned off the halogen light I usually use when beading. I was just floored by the shooting colors. I think, when wearing, the effect can be duplicated if the sun isn't out, a cloudy day, or even raining, or in the evening. You have to see it, it is amazing. Love your site, love your selection and love your prices (even though I have to pay tax) Wish I had found you a long time ago. I have also sent your site to all my friends who bead, including my daughter. Have a good one, and watch out for the rain, here in "sunny" FLA.

Cantaloupe is the perfect color -- I have been waiting to add these to some soft peachy/pink African trade beads and nothing matches!
